Snow Day #5

Today was a little better (as far as snow days are concerned).  The sun came out and it wasn't nearly as cold as it has been.  I think it really made us all feel better.  The roads are just now starting to slush up but are still bad -- which, sadly, forced me to stay home and miss my best friend's baby shower.  We decided to make the best of it.  Since it is supposed to be the only nice day this weekend we decided to run to the store.  I made a menu for the next week and made a list and we hopped in Jacob's car.  The adventure started with Jacob's driver's side door being frozen shut.  The roads were scary until we hit Danforth, which had been cleared for the most part.  We got to the parking lot and it was pretty scary too.  We slid into our parking space and then I talked to the boys about walking on the ice from the car to the store and how they needed to be very careful.  Logan slid several times and almost fell once.  It was a stressful and tiring trip.  We got inside to the crowds of people who had the same idea we did.  We got what we needed (that they had) and then I looked at Jacob and said, "Run away!  We're done."  Jacob laughed and said, "Great! Let's get out of here."

After lunch we got the boys ready to go out and play in the snow for another day.  Jacob and I had talked about it and then laughed because we are both so sick of the snow, but we are glad we did.  It was a lot of fun.   I wanted to share some pictures of our 5th day of snow and all the fun the boys had in it today.

We went outside and the snow is still deep in a lot of areas.  Alex fell and then just laid face down in the snow.  It was so funny.

The boys and the finished snowman -- Logan got a little attached to him, I think. It might be sad when he melts.

The boys went sledding down the hill while we were outside too.  The above picture is Logan tossing snow in the air and watching it fall.  He loved doing that!

Alex stomped around in the snow and said he was the abominable snow monster.  Then he'd walk up to me and growl.

There is an elderly woman who lives across the street.  Jacob helped her get her mail today and she gave the boys candy canes.  Logan went over with Jacob to thank her.

Alex was trying to retrieve the "sled" and started sliding down the hill.  He came close to doing the splits.

  1. Cute pictures! Looks like the boys are having so much fun with the snow. It's nice to know somebody is! I can see Logan getting attached to that snowman. And Alex is the cutest Abominable Snowman I've ever seen.
