I took the boys to meet my mother on Thursday so she could take them home with her and they could spend a few days with their grandparents. We met my best friend, Denisa, for coffee and breakfast first. It was a blast. The boys played and Denisa and I were able to sit and visit for a while. Since she lives about an hour and a half away it makes getting to see her extra special because we don't get to see each other often. Here are some pictures of all the fun we had!
We had lunch with my mom and then the boys went home with her. My mom told them they were going to go to McDonald's and get Happy Meals, go to Kiddie Land, and she took them to rent movies and to do a few other fun things as well. From what we have been told the boys are having a blast!
While the boys are gone Jacob and I have enjoyed spending time together--and being able to have a conversation without being interrupted by a little boy. Last night we rented the movie "Kick-Ass" and loved it. Well, I loved it. I don't know if Jacob "loved" it, but I think he at least liked it. I wasn't sure what to expect when we rented it but it ended up being a really good movie!
We were able to sleep in this morning, which is a luxury we don't get often. It was nice. We went and had coffee and breakfast together. Usually when we go out to eat the boys are with us and we feel as if we need to eat and run because the boys start getting bored. This morning we were able to take our time and after eating breakfast we sat for a while drinking coffee and talking. It is one of those things that we don't get to do much anymore so it seems extra special when we do get to just sit, drink coffee, and talk.
Here is Jacob waiting on his coffee! Ha. It was a lot of fun.
We also went to the farmers market. Not the most romantic thing in the world, but it's something we enjoy and it's always SO crowded that it's difficult to navigate two little boys through the crowds of people. It was nice to go and just take our time and walk around and see what all was there. We bought a few things, too.
The crowded farmers market.

The EDMOND sign on the rail road track near the farmers market!
Jacob was on the other side of the rail road tracks taking pictures of things and I was waiting. Ha.
Jacob with a surprise for the boys when they get home from their grandparents'. He has been wanting to get them tee ball gloves for a while now and he kept telling me he really wanted to surprise them with gloves and balls when they got home. We found a really good deal and couldn't pass it up. Jacob is excited to give them to the boys and I know the boys will be excited--especially one 5-year-old who loves baseball!!
